Expressions of Gratitude

Like many of you, I am thankful for my family, friends and the community in which I live and work.

Professionally, I am witness to sentimental bits and bobs of people’s lives. People often express their gratitude for health, for their good fortune and especially for their loved ones. Yet many times they generously share those thoughts with me while their loved ones remain in the dark.

The memoir I've just finished is with a woman who has lived many lives, an 80th birthday gift from her adult children. I am 100% positive that those children will be shocked by all the praise she lavishes on them in her book.

My American Thanksgiving wish is for you to speak with, write to or yell from the trees your appreciation for those special people in your life. Even if you have done so before, a reminder, like a thank you, goes a long way.
